Outer Worlds 2

The Outer Worlds 2 will solve a mysterious problem Fallout’s creator has struggled with for nearly 30 years. Tim Cain is a big fan of Obsidian’s latest game. It looks like the Fallout series creator himself has been working on finding a solution to a design flaw for almost 30 years. And that solution may finally be found in The Outer Worlds 2.

Tim Cain, is best known for being one of the designers of Bethesda’s Fallout series. It is semi-retired and no longer actively involved in game development. But he still contributes to the community by offering advice on titles such as The Outer Worlds 2. Cain teased a feature of The Outer Worlds 2 that he witnessed while playing the game in a recent interview with RockPaperShotgun.

A developer for Obsidian has reportedly “figured out” a way to solve a bug that Cain has been facing in games ever since he worked on the first Fallout in 1995. “I not only told him how impressed I was, I found my notes from 28 years before,”. Cain said, going on to say that he had even gone back to 1995 to recall his efforts in trying to solve the issue.

Obsidian:

You ask, what exactly is the issue? The main reason Cain won’t say is that he can’t divulge too much information about The Outer Worlds 2 at this time. Regarding his work on Obsidian’s latest game, the seasoned developer states, “There are things they’re trying to do in the sequel. That of course I can’t talk about. That I get pulled in on because it’s similar to stuff I’ve done in the past.”

Occasionally, Cain will list “pitfalls” that Obsidian might need to avoid in the follow-up. Cain didn’t even need to explain a solution to Obsidian because a studio developer had already figured it out. This only makes it more difficult to wait for Obsidian’s role-playing game sequel.

We still don’t have a lot of information about it. Such as when it will be released or whether any of its fantastic companion characters will return. However, Obsidian studio head Josh Sawyer stated last year that small games could aid large AAA studios in their productions. It is similar to how the Medieval caper Pentiment from the studio influenced it and Avowed.
