Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree by Elden Ring is FromSoftware’s “largest expansion” to date, surpassing even the DLC for Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3. This indicates that it is larger than both The Old Hunters and The Ringed City. The largest DLC release from FromSoftware to date will be the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring.
The director of the Elden Ring game, Hidetaka Miyazaki, reveals the details of the upcoming Elden Ring DLC in a recent interview with Eurogamer. FromSoftware’s “largest expansion to date in terms of overall volume,” as Miyazaki puts it, is Shadow of the Erdtree. That sounds extremely good.
The director previously disclosed that there will be optional bosses in Shadow of the Erdtree that are comparable in difficulty to Melania. Miyazaki then goes on to say that there will be “over 10 new boss fights” in the game. Along with “plenty of new weapons, equipment, and skills to find,” there will be eight new weapon categories to accommodate the newly acquired weaponry.
Elden Ring DLC:
Shadow of the Erdtree sounds enormous with all of this added content, which may not come as a surprise given that the Elden Ring DLC costs $40, or two-thirds of the price of the original game. There’s even a collector’s version that costs six times as much as Shadow of the Erdtree and features a helmet modeled after what appears to be the main enemy of the expansion.
Shadow of the Erdtree is larger than Dark Souls’ Artorias of the Abyss DLC, Dark Souls 3’s The Ringed City DLC, and Bloodborne’s cherished The Older Hunters DLC, according to Miyazaki’s remarks. With additional tools and weaponry, as well as completely new maps and areas to explore, each of those expansions offered inventive new ways to play their games.
