Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake

Metal Gear Solid 3 and Silent Hill 2 remakes will launch in 2024, according to an official PS5 preview. There is finally a release window for the Konami remakes.

Though Sony appears to be certain that both Metal Gear Solid 3 and Silent Hill 2 will be released this year, Konami has not provided specific release dates for them. Both games are included in an official list of PS5 games that will be released in 2024.

Silent Hill 2 Remake:

This official preview of the 2024 PlayStation 5 titles features a ton of big-name games, like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. However, the focus of everyone’s attention has been drawn to the upcoming Konami remakes of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2, as neither game had an official release window until today.

The fine print at the bottom of the post states, “All featured titles scheduled for release in 2024 at the time of publication,” implying that nothing was accidentally included here. Naturally, it’s important to keep in mind the remaining portions of that notice: “Release dates for titles that haven’t been released yet may vary depending on the location. Kindly consult the appropriate publisher for the most recent details.”

Nevertheless, this is the first hint that either of these remakes will hit theaters this year. It didn’t seem impossible that they might be released as late as 2025. But it looks like we can expect them sooner than that.

PlayStation 5:

Although this is a Playstation 5 blog, neither game is limited to that system. The Xbox Series X and PC will also get Metal Gear Solid Delta. At launch, Silent Hill 2 will only be available on the PS5 and PC. But it appears that this is a timed exclusivity agreement that will eventually see the game released on other platforms.

Hopefully, the much-maligned Silent Hill: Ascension leaves a worse impression than the Silent Hill 2 remake.
