Chrono Trigger

Chrono Trigger creators shower Sea of Stars with praise: “It looks great”.

The original developers of Chrono Trigger have expressed their extreme admiration for Sea of Stars.

When Hironobu Sakaguchi, Yuji Horii, and Kazuhiko Torishiyama appeared on a J-Wave Radio program in Japan last month, they discussed Sea of Stars, the excellent new role-playing game that is reminiscent of classic JRPGs. The trio showered the new game with acclaim, claiming that its gorgeous pixelated graphics and character design perfectly evoked the spirit of Chrono Trigger.

The legendary artist Torishiyama, who oversaw Akira Toriyama’s work on Chrono Trigger at first, claimed that staring at Sea of Stars brought back memories. Meanwhile, Horii, who penned Chrono Trigger’s original scenario, described the new game as “beautiful” after seeing Sakaguchi’s video.

Sea Of Stars:

Sakaguchi, who is credited with coming up with the initial concept for it, on the other hand, stated that the creators of Sea of Stars had done a “great job” with their game. Even the original creative lead claimed that the two games essentially had the “same” appearance.

The news must be amazing for the Sea of Stars developers. Not just the game’s creators have been praising it greatly; in less than four months, over four million individuals have played Sea of Stars, smashing the initial target set by the developers and exceeding their wildest dreams.

During the radio interview, the three titans of development also discussed the prospect of a Chrono Trigger 2,” something they claimed was “hard” for them to imagine creating. It’s hardly shocking that Sakaguchi is playing Final Fantasy 14 for 12 hours a day in Hawaii and Horii is working hard on Dragon Quest 12 given their advanced age.
